    OVERVIEW

    MOON RIVER is a custom Hunt motor yacht, built by Palmer Johnson in Wisconsin and launched in 1997. In 2004 she finished a two year extensive refit that includes total exterior paint, new appliances and electronics, new tools, two new Jet skis, total interior remodel and refurbish and major inframe overhaul of the main engines. She is up-to-date in all of her service requirements. The vessel is in perfect condition, owner and captain are fastidious. Her elegant classic profile is enhanced by her fast and sea kindly performance.

    Plan

     

    The layout, from the bow, starts with the crew quarters for 2 with 2 separate heads and one stall shower. There is an additional guest stateroom here to starboard with over and under berths and an ensuite head. This area has its own stairway access from the forward library area.

    Moving aft past the laundry area one enters the air-conditioned full-width machine room that contains all electrical generation systems and hook-ups, air-conditioning units, water maker, tool box, spares and access to the Naiad stabilizers.

    Next aft through a triple clamped water tight bulkhead door is access to the master head which is hidden behind a mirrored wall door. The master head has a full size bath with shower over. The master stateroom (starboard) follows next with her queen bed positioned against the rear engine bulkhead. The guest stateroom is adjacent to port with her queen bed positioned athwartships against the port side. The ensuite is forward with separate stall shower. Aft of this is the engine room and then finally the crew kitchen.

    The main level of MOON RIVER comprises a forward library/cocktail lounge followed by the owner's kitchen and dining area then down three steps to the media/office area that provides the main access to the rear staterooms and forward access via a water tight Freeman door to the engine room.

    Access to the bridge is via stairs from the library. The helm position is in the middle of an air-conditioned pilothouse and provides excellent visibility to all parts of the vessel, plus port and starboard outside wing control stations to enhance docking ability.

    The owner's galley and dining room are situated amidships and entered from the bar area on the starboard side. The galley has black granite countertops, Kohler sink and faucets, wood veneered cabinetry with Oyster White Awlgrip trim, terrazzo tile and then carpet under the square rosewood veneer dining table which is accented with ebony and bronze and seats eight.

    There are two occasional chairs and an ottoman finished in brown Ultra suede for casual seating with four Louis XVI style dining chairs.

    The walls are covered in Maya Romanoff Jewel Stripe vinyl wall paper in citron with trim work in Awlgrip Oyster White, and Prestige Collection Porcelain Majilite fabric on the ceilings.

    During her major refit in 2003/2004 Moon River received complete new electronics and entertainment systems. A Sea Tel Wavecall MCM3 satellite voice and data system provides connectivity in remote locales. This, combined with a Crestron entertainment system controlling satellite as well as cable TV, XM radio feed and CD music, allow entertainment in all cabins. There are 7 separate Direct TV tuners to allow for individual operation and three CD players offering similar versatility.

    On the Flybridge her electronics offer the latest in cartogrophy software with multiple units for redundancy and safety. There are data repeaters in the library area to inform her pampered passengers of her speed, depth, wind speed and direction and water temperature, as well as an additional VHF to call those passengers who have ventured away for a few hours or to perhaps check on other cruising vessels or get weather reports.

    Moon River's DDEC 16V- 92TA diesel engines were majored in 2004 and currently have approximately 500 hrs on them. They are located aft, driving through ZF v-drive gearboxes. This placement allows the cockpit sole above the engine room to be some three feet lower than the afterdeck in a motor yacht of comparable size and gives a feeling of being close to water level when underway.

    The forward machine room that contains the generators is air-conditioned as is the engine room which allows for comfortable working conditions during maintenance. Both areas have a Kidde Fenwall fire protection system.

    Moon River was built entirely in aluminums by Palmer Johnson and launched in Spring of 1997. She was completely repainted in 2004/2005 with her hull color Awlgrip Aristo Blue and her superstructure Vestal White. She has a teak toe/cap rail.
